The Race, Politics, and Policy Center (RPPC) provides research and informative events focused on the intersection of race, politics, and public policy. We seek to supplement the student experience, enlighten public discourse, and inspire civic engagement. Our interdisciplinary community of scholars, students, and practitioners work together to address pressing issues with solutions.

FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Michael K. Fauntroy, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Policy and Government and the founding director of the Race, Politics, and Policy Center at George Mason University (GMU). He began his second stint at GMU in 2021 after eight years on the political science department faculty at Howard University, where he also served as acting director of the Ronald W. Walters Leadership and Public Policy Center. He previously served on the GMU faculty from 2002-2013.
